Committee members meet with the Federal Customs Service and Northwest Customs representatives, who brief them on customs regulation development and answer members’ questions on matters affecting day-to-day business operations. The key Committee activities include discussion of the latest changes to the customs legislation, customs and logistics issues, which member companies’ face, and transport infrastructure development.
Digital Transformation Committee
The IT Committee brings together PEBA member companies involved in the IT and telecommunication sector and holds regular meetings covering a wide range of issues, including industrial enterprises digitalization processes, IT solutions localization, advanced approaches to IT management and development, and labor market and education of IT specialists.
Environment, Health & Safety
The Committee attracts member companies’ leading experts and top-level officials and holds regular meetings on the hottest current topics, advocating a number of important EHS-related legislative challenges, such as labor protection, waste management and others. The Committee has established a good working relationship with the relevant authorities, including Rosprirodnadzor and the Committees for Labor and Employment both in St Petersburg and Leningrad Oblast.
The HR Committee actively participates in many initiatives aimed at resolving the labor-related issues in close cooperation with relevant federal and regional authorities. The Committee takes part in the St Petersburg Labor Forum and holds its annual HR Conference bringing together member companies' executives, HR directors, recruitment, legal and consultancy professionals to discuss the latest trends and developments in the labor market.
The Investment & Legal Committee is dedicated to improving the business and investment climate in Northwest Russia. The Committee maintains a working relationship with legislative and judicial bodies to follow latest legal developments and application practices and puts together suggestions on administrative barriers reduction in the region.
The Manufacturing Committee represent the interests of PEBA manufacturing member companies and brings together chief engineers and production managers to discuss such issues as localization, search for suppliers, procedures for operating manufacturing facilities, issues of standards, norms and regulations for equipment, energy tariffs and utilities connections. It also holds regular best practices exchange meetings on LEAN management approaches to the manufacturing processes improvement, quality issues and other topics.
The Procurement Committee brings together the Heads of Procurement Departments and leading procurement experts from the PEBA member companies. They share their best practices in purchasing and procurement and deal with a wide range of the issues of common interest, such as supplier selection processes, tender procedures, vendor reliability, innovations in procurement and more.
The PR Committee focuses on discussing the key topics of interest for its members, such PR and digital marketing trends, best practices exchange in the areas of internal communication and CSR activities, changes to legislation on advertising and others. The Committee meets with key players in St. Petersburg’s media market.
The Taxation Committee works closely with the St. Petersburg and Leningrad Oblast authorities and monitors federal and regional tax legislation. It has participated in drafting regional legislation and amendments on tax incentives for existing and prospective investors in St Petersburg and Leningrad Oblast, thus helping to improve the investment climate of both regions. Within the framework of the regular meetings and annual Tax conference, the Committee members discuss the most topical issues of taxation and tax administration.
The Tourism & Hospitality Committee liaises with the St Petersburg and Leningrad Oblast authorities to promote the city and oblast as a tourist destination. The Committee also advocates on behalf of its members the tourism industry’s top priority issues - such as visas, support measures for the industry, tourism infrastructure development, migration issues, etc.
